OUR DENOMINATION
Steeple Fellowship is a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference
(“CCCC”). The CCCC is a fellowship of true Congregational Churches, which provides a
voluntary bond of cooperation between Churches for whom the Bible is authoritative. It is
dedicated to the positive performance of the work of Christ and does not stand in judgment over
other groups or denominations. The CCCC praises God for all who seek to glorify Christ and
looks earnestly for Christian brothers everywhere. True Congregationalism is not merely a form
of polity. Certainly, it is not a particular doctrinal system. True Congregationalism is a heartfelt
loyalty to New Testament principles. A true Congregational Church is made up of born-again
believers. A true Congregational Church is loyal to the written Word of God. A true
Congregational Church is under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. A true Congregational Church is
autonomous. A true Congregational Church seeks fellowship with those of like precious faith.
OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy
Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in
His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in
power and glory.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is
absolutely essential.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by who’s indwelling the Christian is
enabled to live a godly life.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the
resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
8. We believe in what is termed “The Apostles’ Creed” as embodying fundamental facts of
the Christian faith.
9. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.
These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
(Gen 1:26-27)
10. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one
woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen. 2:18-25) We believe
that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are
married to each other. (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4.) We believe that God has commanded
that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a
woman.
11. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their
sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom. 10:9-
10; 1 Cor. 6:9-11)
12. We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of
inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically
or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural
death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps. 139)
13. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of this Church as the local
Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the Church’s members and the
community, it is imperative that all persons employed by this Church in any capacity, or
who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement of Faith. (Matt. 5:16; Phil.
2:14-16; 1 Thess. 5:22)
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the
inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth,
morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we
believe. For purposes of this Church’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our
pastor (and elders, if any) are this Church’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s
meaning and application.
